The Hot Springs/Hot Springs Village Symphony Guild is proud to announce that they have been selected by the Midori Partners In Performance Foundation to be the recipient of one of only three awards in the nation to bring a world-class performing artist to our community.

The artist selected to appear here in Hot Springs Village is premiere pianist Jonathan Biss (pictured at right). Finishing an extended concert series in Europe and the Far East, he will make a concert appearance in Hot Springs Village at the Woodlands Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2011. Ticket prices and sales dates will be announced later this year.

Partners in Performance (PIP) was founded by renowned violinist, Midori, to bring concerts, recitals, and chamber music, performed by world-class artists, to smaller communities in the U.S.. Through these PIP performances, high profile artists, such as Jonathan Biss and Midori herself, galvanize community attention and increase the awareness of the artistry of performers who have world-wide appeal. Since he made his New York Philharmonic debut in 2001, Jonathan Biss has appeared with the foremost orchestras of the United States and Europe. He is a frequent performer at leading international music festivals and has appeared in major music capitals both here and abroad.

Reserved seat tickets will be offered to Guild members and from all indications, this one-night performance will sell-out and may not be available for public sale. What better reason to become a member of the HS/HSV Symphony Guild. Majority funding for the Guild’s philanthropic work is derived from memberships and individual donations to the organization.
